Fabricators (Field Maintenance)

Primary purpose of the job :
Prepare, set-up, fabricate and assemble piping and structural steel.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provides technical knowledge, expertise, and supervision for the following facets of Maintenance:
  Conversant with P&ID’s and Isometric drawings and performs pipe fit-ups as per drawings for SS and CS.
• Calculate patterns based on area and volume using trigonometric functions.
• Calculate center of gravity for weight determination and load spacing.
• Perform the job on Iron work machine, plate rolling machine, band saw and plate shearing.
• Quality Control Measures for all Maintenance-related activities using checklist.
• Understands cross-sectional drawings, procedures & other related documents related to the structure.
• Understands basic machining techniques and repair-damagedparts up to extent possibilities.
• Collect data in order to support to prepare technical report .
• Quality Control Measures for all Maintenance-related activities using checklist.
• Determine tools for lifting / shifting of loads using the Overhead Crane.
• To operate various machines / tools required such as Folding Machine, Guillotine Machine, and Rolling Machine, Elect. Lock Former, Elect. Swaging Machine, Edger Machine, Elect. Drill Machine, Nibbler Elect. (cutter sheet), etc.
• To fabricate Aluminium /steel cladding as per requirement.
• Understands Standards Relating to tools / equipment.
• Participates in Regular Tool Box meeting with colleagues
• Reports all Near Misses, Incidents and Accidents during operation                                                                                    Experience, Knowledge and skills :
• Educational Qualifications: Technology diploma /ITI certificate from recognized Institution
• Relevant Work Experience: minimum 5-year experience in a workshop carrying out fabrication / welding of piping, pressure vessels and structural steel
• English Language Skills: Basic written and oral communication skills in English.

Job Specific Requirements :

• Experience in setting up and carrying out hydrostatic testing.
• Extensive knowledge of techniques and skills to site measure, cut (using Oxy-acetylene and Plasma) set up and prepare for welding piping and structural steel of a variety of materials.
• Good understanding of Isometric and P&ID drawings.
• Knowledgeable in all types of metals and its properties.
• Knowledge to diagnose the cause of failure and provide reasons for failure.
• Knowledgeable of heat exchanger re-tubing and refurbishments.
• Works with the complexities of a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
