Pipe Fitter

Primary purpose of the job :

The purpose is to provide Maintenance activities related to Pipe installation, Blinding / de blinding, Valve removal / installation and static equipment maintenance (related to Vessels, Boilers, Incinerators, Stacks, etc., PRV PPM and pigging receiver campaign). To support Field maintenance & workshop Support services in the field of maintenance for all Qatar gas Onshore & Offshore Facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provides technical knowledge and involvement for the following facets of Field Maintenance:
• Understands Piping Class and Symbols, Fabrication works, Hydro testing, Pneumatic Testing and Nitrogen purging.
• Understands all types of material from SS, MS, CS , Galvanized, etc. and Interprets Welding Procedure
  Standards.
• Understands the principles of Post welding Heat Treatment, Shrink fitting and Thermal expansion of metals for assembly of shaft to sleeves, shafts to bearings(Clearance fit or Transition fit)
• Installation & removal of pipe spools, blinding and de-blinding of pipe lines.
• Vessel internal assembly, disassembly & repair as per drawings.
• Able to understand the Basic Rigging Signals or verbally direct equipment Crane operators in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials.
• Able to use all the precisions measuring tools to take all the dimensions, clearances of the equipment.
• Select proper tools for safe & efficient working and determine stools for lifting / shifting of loads
• To work together in team to accomplish tasks.
• Understanding of the Standards Relating to tools / equipment.
• Maintain tools in good conditions.

Experience, Knowledge and skills :

• Educational Qualifications: Minimum Higher Secondary School Education / Vocational education / ITI from a recognized institution.
• Relevant Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience on industrial equipment, of which at least 3years under Maintenance role in diversified Oil & Gas Industry / petrochemical process plant or a major Power Utility.
• Computer Skills: Computer literate with Microsoft Office software.
• English Language Skills: Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  Job Specific Requirements:
• Use of specific tools such as orquing pumps, hydraulic winches, bench grinders, drill machines, etc.
• Highly skilled as a Pipe Fitter, capable of performing pipe fit ups / support brackets as per drawings for SS and CS.
• Knowledge of Boiler, Pressure vessel, Heat exchanger maintenance & Pigging.
• Working knowledge on supports / brackets for vibrating equipment / accessories and piping.
• Knowledge of P&ID’s and Isometric drawings, various Maintenance Field practices including the up to-date state of the art Technology will be preferred.
• A strong focus on safety is paramount and practical know-how of permit to work systems and lock out
• procedures applicable to LNG / Petrochemical plants is required.
• Excellent adaptability to a multicultural environment with a wide exposure to various cultures and customs
• Familiar with and experienced in working with H2S rich processes / Refinery will be preferred.
