Primary purpose of the job :
The purpose of this position is to provide Maintenance expertise to Qatar gas Workshop with respect to troubleshooting, analysis of Cause and Effect, controlling measures in the field of maintenance. The position provides technical knowledge and expertise for Workshop Practices for all Qatar gas Onshore /Offshore facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides technical knowledge expertise and supervision for the following facets of Workshop Maintenance:
- Execution of Valve Maintenance activities such as assembly, disassembly, lapping, pop-up and blowback testing for PRV’s, Seat and Body testing, Workshop Gland seal replacement, etc.
- Knowledgeable on diagnostics for the causes of failure, provide reasons / effect for failure and to identify damaged spares from dismantled valves & actuators and prepare reports as required.
- Capable of understanding valve data sheets, assembly drawings and cross sectional drawings.
- Capable of understanding control valve testing procedure as per leakage class
- Identification of Spare parts and prioritization
- Operate pneumatic / hydraulic torqueing equipment with the right selection of tools.
- Determine tools for lifting /shifting of loads using the Overhead Crane
- To repair damaged parts to extent possible and prepare list of new spares required and test valves.
- Quality Control Measures for all Maintenance-related activities using checklist
- To work together in team to accomplish tasks and maintain tools in good conditions
- Capability to understand , analyze and trouble shoot to resolve complex problems.
Experience, Knowledge and skills :
Educational Qualifications: Minimum Higher Secondary School Education / ITI / Diploma in the field of Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution
Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience, of which at least 3 years should be post trade, in an Oil & Gas Industry / petrochemical/ process plant.
English Language Skills: Good written and oral communication skills in English.
Job Specific Requirements:
- Knowledgeable on diagnostics for the causes of failure, provide reasons / effect for failure and to identify damaged spares from dismantled valves & actuators and prepare reports as required.
- Theoretical & practical knowledge of all types of Valves / Actuators such as PIBIVIESSE /TYCO /POYAM / VANESSA / VALTEK/ ORBIT / ADAMS / VELAN/ KEYSTONE / FISHER, and PRV’s, etc.
- Knowledge on torqueing of flanges with proper sequence and to standard torque value.
- Highly skilled as a Workshop Valve Technician and had numerous relevant Trainings such as understanding on the API 527 & 576, 598, ANSI FCI 70-2 standards.
- Knowledgeable in various Maintenance Workshop practices including the up-to-date state of the art Technology.
- Knowledgeable of Hydro testing procedures.
- Knowledge on how to use the Test bench & handling of Air / Water / Nitrogen at high pressure.
- Has capability to work under pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
